Research Scholar, Digital Learning Team
[email protected]Bio
Becky Evans-Wilson knows that behind every digital framework or AI policy is a person trying to navigate a changing world. As a Research Scholar at the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation at NC State, she translates research into strategies that work for schools and communities alike. Her approach is shaped by 15 years in North Carolina’s public schools as both a teacher and a Digital Learning Coach. That time in the classroom gives her a clear perspective on what it takes to turn a digital mandate into a meaningful practice.
At the Friday Institute, Becky focuses on the practical side of emerging technology. She has developed AI Literacy courses that help districts move past the initial complexity of the tools and toward a purposeful, ethical strategy for using them. After collaborating with the NC Department of Information Technology to develop the NC Digital Skills Standards, she is currently co-authoring the curriculum that will guide their implementation for all citizens, giving all North Carolina residents a path to build digital resilience and expand opportunities.
