NEW COLLEGE OF EDUCATION STUDYABROAD PROGRAM!
Kenya: Global Education, Literacy, & Culture Program
A Kenyan proverb states, “Traveling is learning.” During this study abroad experience, you will be immersed in Kenyan culture and will have ample opportunities to reflect upon and learn about the similarities and differences between U.S. and Kenyan culture, values, and educational systems. This program will take you to Nairobi, Kenya, the capital city, and Kitale, Kenya, situated within the agricultural center of the Rift Valley. You will have opportunities to visit cultural landmarks, to experience the beauty and awe of Kenya’s nature and wildlife during a safari to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, and at the heart of this experience, an opportunity to work with, observe, and collaborate with teachers and students in both primary and secondary Kenyan schools.
Meet Chantal Warfield
I chose to study abroad because I didn’t want to regret not going when I had the chance to. I know many people who regretted not going when they were in college. Don’t be afraid. Just do it. Take the leap and go. It is amazing to be able to be abroad. It can change your entire perspective on the world and yourself. It’s an experience that can literally change your life. What I loved about these courses were that we had to treat London like our classroom to understand the material. We got to be hands on and experience what we were learning about firsthand.
37 College of Education students participated in 11 study abroad programs in 8 countries in 2017-2018
Estonia, Finland, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom
