Licensure FAQ
1. What do I do if I am applying for a job and the application asks for a copy of my teaching license and I do not have it yet?
If you need a verification to upload in Applitrack, the Office of Professional Education will provide you one after you have completed the license application and your application has been approved.
Email Ms. Goos at professionaled@ncsu.edu to ask for a verification of program completion or fill out the Verification Request form and provide the name of the Human Resources Official, School System and email address.
Ms. Goos will email the verification to the Human Resources Official and send you a copy.
2. What if I want to apply for a teaching license in a state other than North Carolina?
It is the responsibility of the candidate to research licensing requirements for other states.
Share any requirements and forms with Ms. Paige Goos, Licensure Coordinator for the Office of Professional Education at professionaled@ncsu.edu. Complete all personal information on any forms.
Provide a detailed description of what is needed and how it should be submitted.
If you want a hard copy mailed to you, please provide an addressed and stamped envelope Ms. Goos.
3. How can I track the status of my licensure application?
Once the Office of Professional Education approves your licensure application in the online portal, we are unable to track the status of your license. We can let you know the date that we approved your recommendation but after that you will need to contact the Department of Public Instruction for a status update.
