Bio

Jenn is responsible for endowment and scholarship management, donor stewardship and Alumni Relations of the College of Education Development Office. She works closely with the Scholarship Committee on annual college awards. As the Development Office’s liaison to the NC State Foundation, Advancement Services, Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, and Alumni Engagement for the College of Education, Jenn oversees gift processing, documentation, reporting and communications with other University Advancement departments across campus. Jenn is from Raleigh, NC. She earned her degree at the University of North Carolina Asheville. While Jenn’s degree is in art history, she will happily talk with anyone about entomology, epidemiology or travel, which she has had the opportunity to study and take part in as a non-degree student at NC State. Both of Jenn’s parents also worked for NC State; Her father, Dr. Don Mershon, as a professor in the Psychology Department for 39 years, and her mother, Loretta Mershon, as a librarian at D.H. Hill Library before retiring from NC Central University’s Law Library. Jenn and her husband, John, live in Raleigh with their daughters, Amelia and Piper, and their cats, Demi and Elizabeth. John is a social studies teacher at SouthEast Raleigh Magnet High School, and he has two degrees from the College of Education, his MAT and his PhD.
