Program Description
The Elementary Education in Mathematics & Science (EEMS) concentration in the Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum M.Ed. program helps experienced teachers strengthen their impact in mathematics or science instruction in K-6 classrooms. Through coursework and hands-on experience in an innovative, fully online program, teachers deepen their specialized content knowledge in mathematics or science and improve their understanding about how elementary-aged children learn.
Through collaboration with their instructors and peers, teachers learn how to apply their deepened expertise to their instructional practices and leadership in their classrooms and schools. This concentration is designed to meet the needs of full-time educators with fully online courses scheduled for the evening hours. Those enrolled in the program typically take two courses (6 hours) per semester for five semesters, completing the program in two academic years.
