Bio

Hector Junco is the Assistant Dean of Operations for the NC State College of Education, where he oversees the college’s budget, human resources, information technology, and facilities. He works closely with faculty, staff, and university partners to ensure that resources, processes, and spaces are aligned to support the college’s teaching, research, and engagement goals.

With more than 20 years of leadership experience in higher education and government, Hector has a proven track record of developing strategies and systems that improve financial effectiveness, streamline operations, and enhance productivity. Prior to joining NC State in 2023, he served in multiple senior leadership roles at Florida International University, including Assistant Dean of Finance and Operations, Executive Director of Finance and Operations, and Director of Finance and Analysis. Earlier in his career, he held key financial and administrative roles with the Florida Department of Children and Families.

Hector earned his Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University and his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Florida International University.
