PD 724 – Developing Cultural Competence Co-curricular Student Certificate offered by NC State Global Training Initiative

The College of Education is sponsoring the $100 Program Fee for students who wish to participate in the virtual Developing Cultural Competence (DCC) program hosted by the NC State Global Training Initiative.
This co-curricular certificate program aims to help you identify your own cultural preferences and equip you with the tools to understand the preferences of others. Cultural awareness can give you the skills you need in working with diverse populations of students and colleagues in educational settings. Participating in this program will help you develop skills and strategies for working effectively across cultural differences. This program is also an opportunity to explore the world from home by connecting with peers and colleagues around the world.
The average time requirement of the program is 12 hours in total over the 4 week period. You are expected to join four 90-minute live facilitated sessions via Zoom (6 hours) and complete weekly self-paced lessons and assignments (6+ hours).
The priority application deadline for Spring 2022 DCC sessions is Friday, January 14, 2022, and it is open to College of Education undergraduate and graduate students. Undergraduate students and MAT students are eligible to receive PGU credit by registering in SAGE.

February Tuesdays at 9:00 AM (EST): Feb 1, 8, 15, and 22 (PD 724, session 001)
February Wednesdays at 8:00 PM (EST): Feb 2, 9, 16, and 23 (PD 724, session 002)
February Thursdays at 9:00 AM (EST): Feb 3, 10, 17, and 24 (PD 724, session 003)
February Fridays at 9:00 AM (EST): Feb 4, 11, 18 and 25 (PD 724, session 004)

March-April Mondays at 9:00 AM (EDT): March 21 and 28, April 4 and 11 (PD 724, session 005)
March-April Tuesdays at 8:00 PM (EDT): March 22 and 29, April 5 and 12 (PD 724, session 006)
March-April Wednesdays at 9:00 AM (EDT): March 23 and 30, April 6 and 13 (PD 724, session 007)
March-April Thursdays at 9:00 AM (EDT): March 24 and 31, April 7 and 14 (PD 724, session 008)
Audience: Undergraduate and Graduate Students (For PGU credits, please sign up for one of the sessions above in SAGE!)
