College of Education Graduation Information

The College of Education’s 2023 Spring Graduation Ceremony will be held Friday, May 5, 2023, in Reynolds Coliseum beginning at 8 a.m. This website will be updated as information is finalized.

Privacy Restrictions

NC State does not publish the names of graduates who have certain privacy restrictions on their accounts. Also, names are printed in NC State’s graduation materials as they appear on your official transcript. Verify and update your information as well as remove any privacy restrictions here. You must update your privacy settings by March 24 for your name to appear in the College of Education’s and NC State’s graduation programs.

Apply to be a Student Speak at the College of Education’s Graduation Ceremony

The College of Education’s graduation ceremony will include one undergraduate student speaker and one graduate student speaker. Each speech will be a charge or call to action to fellow graduating students that is about 3-4 minutes in length. You can view the criteria to be a student speaker and details, as well as apply to be a student speaker, here. The deadline to apply to be a student speaker is April 12.

Submit Your Photos from Your Time as a College of Education Student by April 19
While guests wait for your graduation ceremony to start on May 5, we will display a video slideshow of photos you submit from your time as a College of Education student. You can submit up to 5 photos using this form. Please help us build a strong and comprehensive video by submitting up your photos by April 19.

Details About the Ceremony

The college’s Spring 2023 Graduation Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023, in Reynolds Coliseum, beginning at 8 a.m. We will celebrate about 350 students graduating from our college. All graduating students who participate in the ceremony will have their names called and walk across the stage. Doctoral students will also be hooded by faculty advisors.

Information about Parking

Colleges and departments will hold numerous ceremonies on campus in early May. To accommodate guests attending the ceremonies, Transportation will be applying “light hands” enforcement in all unreserved parking spaces. Guests will be able to park in any unreserved or unmarked parking space during this time. Guests for the College of Education’s Graduation Ceremony are encouraged to park in the Reynolds Coliseum deck. For guests who need ADA parking, there will be an increase in the number of ADA parking spaces inside Jeter Drive Parking Bays (beside Reynolds Coliseum).

Livestream of the Graduation Ceremony

The graduation ceremony will be livestreamed on the College of Education’s YouTube channel at youtube.com/NCStateCED for loved ones who cannot attend in person. We will begin the livestream about 30 minutes before the ceremony begins to show highlights of our graduating students.

Caps and Gowns

Graduating students will need to wear a cap and gown to participate in the College of Education’s graduation ceremony and University Commencement. Information about caps and gowns and how to order are here.

No Tickets Required; What Time Doors Open 

No tickets are required for guests. Doors will open at 7:30 a.m. for all guests and at 7:15 a.m. for guests who need accessible seating. All guests should enter through the front doors at the North Entrance of Reynolds Coliseum.

Guests who Need Accessible Seating 

Guests who need accessible seating can enter Reynolds Coliseum through the front doors, or North Entrance, beginning at 7:15 a.m. When they enter Reynolds, they should look for staff who are holding up Accessible Seating signs. Our staff will assist guests toward the elevator inside the front doors on the left. Once guests exit the elevator, additional staff will assist them to the reserved accessible seating  on the second floor.
