Support for the College of Education benefits our programs and students – and those they go on to educate throughout North Carolina and beyond.

The #1 College of Education in North Carolina

North Carolina’s best educators prepare at the NC State College of Education based on statewide performance measures. Our students go on to fill hard-to-staff positions in education, such as in STEM instruction, and empower all learners across the education spectrum. We embrace our land-grant mission by placing teachers, counselors, school administrators, higher education leaders and other education professionals in all 100 counties, including in the areas where they’re needed most.

Supporting scholarships at the College of Education is one of the best ways to ensure a pipeline of high-quality educators and leaders for North Carolina’s schools and communities. Without sufficient funding, our prospective students face paying back student loans on a modest salary or may choose to enroll in another college or pursue another field. By increasing endowed scholarship opportunities, we can ensure dedicated future educators have the chance to develop their skills at NC State – and impact classrooms, schools and communities across the state – for generations to come.

Our Excellence Fund

Your support to the College of Education’s Excellence Fund allows us to respond to urgent educational needs. Gifts to the fund, for example, help us recruit and prepare more educators of color; build a pipeline of K‐12, community college and higher education leaders who build diverse, inclusive and supportive learning environments; and provide resources to meet our most vulnerable communities where they are.

Douglas McColloug

I give to the NC State College of Education because I want to make sure that the best possible teachers are in front of every single child. NC State produces some of the best teachers, and I want to make sure the university continues to do that.

An Investment In Our State

Each year, donors make a difference for thousands of children and families both in North Carolina and across the country by supporting the College of Education Excellence Fund. Gifts to this fund go to work immediately and allow Dean Mary Ann Danowitz the flexibility to direct resources to priorities that align with the state’s most pressing educational needs.

Gifts to the Excellence Fund support scholarships, bring faculty research into practice and strengthen the learning experiences that create strong educators, like cultural immersion trips and cutting-edge technology. Through the Excellence Fund, we’ve created the Student-Teacher Mini-Grants Program, which helps student teachers develop and implement innovative, hands-on classroom projects without incurring out-of-pocket expenses.
