We’re hosting a number of events and activities to celebrate American Education Week Nov. 17-Nov. 21, 2025. Help us celebrate extraordinary educators and the field of education by participating in our activities and events below.

Friday, Nov. 14: American Education Week Kickoff

Join us for an interdepartmental Kickball Game bringing together students, faculty, and staff for fun, connection, and friendly competition!

Monday, Nov. 17: Friday Medal Ceremony

The Friday Institute for Educational Innovation has selected Alfred Mays, strategist and senior program officer at the Burroughs Wellcome Fund, to receive its 2025 Friday Medal.

Tuesday, Nov. 18: Dallas Herring Lecture

Organized by the Belk Center, the 2025 Dallas Herring Lecture will be be delivered by Jason Wood, former president of the Southwest Wisconsin Technical College, 2025 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence winner.

Wednesday, Nov. 19: TEECA Soup and Sandwich Social

The Technology and Engineering Education Collegiate Association (TEECA) chapter will host the TEECA Soup and Sandwich, serving soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, cookie and a drink. Only $5. Cash or credit cards accepted.

Thursday, Nov. 20: High Impact Expo

This event will be a dynamic, college-wide celebration of the transformative, high-impact experiences that define our students’ education and our land-grant mission. Students will reflect on experiences that are shaping them through posters and other visual presentations.
