FUnding opportunities

Teaching Fellows

The N.C. Teaching Fellows program provides up to $10,000 per year in forgivable college loans to teach science, technology, engineering, mathematics, elementary, agriculture or special education in North Carolina.

Transformational Scholars

With the support of the Anonymous Trust, the Transformational Scholarships Program provides a minimum of $40,000 over four years to promising high school students from eastern North Carolina who will return to the region to teach after graduating.

NC State STEM Education Scholars

As an undergraduate, NC State STEM Education Scholars develop an understanding of STEM content needed to teach, are well-prepared to implement  practices to teach students from all backgrounds, and commit to working with students in high-needs school districts. They also receive up to $34,000 during their last four semesters of college.

Marielle Myers ’07MED, ’14PHD has always found joy in education. Today, she is a professor of mathematics education at Kennesaw State University’s Clarice C. and Leland H. Bagwell College of Education, the incoming president of the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators and the author of several children’s books designed to teach young learners about math.
