Partner Schools

Much of your learning in the TELS undergraduate program will extend far beyond campus. Student teaching and internship opportunities provide essential hands-on training and the real-world experience teachers need to excel in their future careers. Our graduates have a reputation for bringing innovation and modern teaching techniques into the school systems that translates into many of them being recommended or hired for jobs soon after graduation.

Making connections around the world

Local and Global Impact

The majority of TELS undergraduate students opt to do their student teaching through our partnerships with the Wake County Public School System. As the largest school system in the state, it gives you plenty to choose from and allows for the opportunity to make many beneficial connections with teachers, principals and faculty in the Raleigh area. However, some choose to work abroad or with our international partner schools for an experience that adds a whole new perspective to the challenges educators face around the world. No matter where you opt to study, the goal is to instill confidence and professional development that will definitely take you places.

“I’ve been extremely impressed with the caliber of professors that (NC State) students have – so much of what they’re learning is cutting edge. We certainly see that in their interactions with the children and how they design their lessons.”
