PD 842 – Active Shooter/Critical Incident Training

Officer Nat Hitchings of the NCSU security is offering a 1-1/2 to 2-hour active shooter training in Poe for students. The training includes videos (one of the Virginia Tech. shootings; one possibly of Sandy Hook) and explains what to do in the event of an incident happening in Poe or elsewhere. Officer Hitchings and his colleagues will take specific questions and, if there is time, do a short walk-through in Poe, showing what to do in actual classroom situations. The Building, Equipment, Safety and Space Committee believe that this will be valuable training for our students right now, and will also be valuable for them in their future positions in schools.
