PD 819 – Mathcounts

Wanted to give all of our MathCounts volunteers a heads up on the date for our competition! Many thanks to those dedicated people that have served in the past, and we look forward to seeing you again. MathCounts is a national math enrichment, coaching and competition program that increases enthusiasm for and enhances achievement in middle school mathematics throughout the United States. Help MathCounts provide students in your community with a fun and exciting avenue to build strong problem solving, analytical thinking and teamwork skills.
This year we have approximately 25 schools registered so far with over 200 participating students. The contest is sponsored locally by PENC, Professional Engineers of North Carolina. If you would like to volunteer your time at this special event, your help would be very much appreciated. Volunteers will be provided free morning refreshments, a pizza lunch and a MathCounts Tee Shirt.

We need help with:
- Proctoring during the exams (observing the students, and handing out papers and pencils) (8:30am – 12:00 noon)
- Grading the exams (you will be given an answer key!) (9:30 am-12:15pm)
