PD 680 – A Fresh Look at Data-Driven Decision-Making in the Classroom: A Motivational Approach
February 23, 2018 | 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
In education, data-driven decision-making typically involves the use of test scores, suspension rates, and performance measures to provide insights into school reform efforts. However, research and data can also be used as a foundation for ways of supporting students’ motivation and engagement while also honoring their cultural distinctiveness. In this workshop, practicing teachers will share exciting ways that research is guiding their classroom activities with middle school students. Attendees will have the opportunity to (1) network with practicing teachers, and (2) learn about strategies for motivationally supportive curriculum development and classroom instruction.
