PD 6731 – Acknowledging and Leveraging Cultural Perspectives and Language in Mathematics (K-5)

This session will focus on how cultural perspectives and language backgrounds affect students’ mathematical thinking and understanding. We will specifically look at addressing the mathematical needs of non-English speakers. As well as how culture influences these mathematical needs. This PGU will help you gain a better understanding of how to meet diverse cultural and language needs, as well as how embracing diversity within a classroom will improve your mathematics instruction.
