NC State Triangle High Five Math Summit 2017 (Secondary Teachers)
August 3, 2017 | 9:00 am - 10:30 am
Join teachers from around the region for the NC State Triangle High Five’s Math Summit 2017. Robert Q. Berry will deliver the keynote address over two sessions — one for elementary teachers and the other for secondary teachers. He is president-elect of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, associate professor in the University of Virginia’s Curry School of Education, and a former middle school mathematics teacher.
His research focuses on equity issues in mathematics education, with a particular emphasis on the experiences of African American boys in school mathematics. He also engages in research on mathematics teaching practices in elementary classrooms.
Both lectures will be held from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in Stewart Theatre on consecutive days:
- August 2 | Elementary Teachers
- August 3 | Secondary Teachers
