Meet a Few Supporters

Every year, individuals, corporations and foundations choose to include the College of Education in their philanthropic priorities. Their investments, at all gift levels, directly impact our programs, students and faculty. Over the years, leadership gifts have established endowments that enhance the College by providing scholarships, fellowships, professional development and innovation funds to advance research. We continue to have ambitious goals for the future; support from the donors highlighted here and countless others is an important part of our path forward.

Dr. Mike Ward & Bishop Hope Morgan Ward

“NC State has meant so many things to me, but above all, my university has opened the world to me and provided me with opportunities that I couldn’t have imagined as a youngster. That’s the best legacy of this incredible institution for me and for all who come here.”

Tommy & Grace Tomkins

“NC State is one of those places I always felt was important to support. I know there is a need for scholarships with cost of education going up. If I have the ability to leave something and if I can help the college, then I’m happy to do it.” – Tommy Tomkins

Belk Endowment & Aspen Institute

“We are thrilled to be partnering with our community colleges to develop and apply innovative approaches to prepare leaders to transform community colleges to increase student success and labor market outcomes for thousands of North Carolinians,” said Dean Danowitz. “This ambitious and important project is at the heart of NC State’s mission to create and apply knowledge and leadership for social, economic and technological development across North Carolina and around the world.”

Deborah Seate

“The scholarship honors the teachers who made me feel valued, and it honors my aunt and uncle (pictured left), who provided so much love and security to me and my brothers. My philosophy is, ‘Education opens doors, and if we want to change the world, it begins with a solid education.’”

Joy & Lou Moshakos

“We both feel very strongly that giving our children a solid education is one of the greatest gifts parents can give to their children. Supporting the College of Education is our way of helping NC State produce some of the best teachers in the country.”
