Why NC State?

I believe in the power of education to transform a persons life. My family has always encouraged continued education and striving to be the best I can be in anything I do. As I began the consider pursuing my doctorate I evaluated a number of Universities that could help me to achieve my academic goals. After an exhaustive search, I found that the EdD program in community college leadership aligned with my preferred career path and would best prepare me for the future.

One insight gained so far…

I have learned a tremendous amount in the program and have been proud of the emphasis on equity established in virtually all of our courses. Community colleges have the ability to encourage more equitable opportunities and outcomes and I believe it is all of our responsibility to do our part. The program and opportunities presented by the program have helped me to expand my knowledge on the historical context and current challenges related to improving equity.
