Making summer plans? Consider giving back to your community through a paid College of Education summer internship!

The Summer Internship Program

The Summer Internship Program is a competitive five-week program for NC State College of Education students in memory of Chantal Warfield, a May 2019 graduate deeply engaged in our college who died in a car accident in October 2019.

Financial support will be provided to selected undergraduate students within the college to serve as an intern at an organization in high needs communities that support education, such as schools, community centers or educational nonprofits.

If selected, you will get to design your OWN internship experience!

Who’s eligible? And application information

Students applying for either internship experience must be:

North Carolina residents
Full time undergraduate students for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Priority for internship opportunities will be given to:

Students who identify organizations and agencies that are located in or serve rural communities

Applications are due by January 6, 2025.

More About the Summer Internship Program and Chantal Warfield

The College of Education Summer Internship Program was established in 2019 to honor Chantal Warfield, a May 2019 graduate of the College of Education who died in a car accident in October 2019. The program supported by gifts to the Chantal Warfield Student Support Endowment. Chantal loved reading from an early age and was always willing to lend a helping hand. While a student at NC State, she was deeply engaged in the College of Education and broader campus community. After graduating in May 2019, she became a college advisor at Pender High School in Burgaw as part of the university’s College Advising Corps. After spending two years as a college advisor, she planned to earn her master’s in library science.

The internship is supported by gifts to the Chantal Warfield Student Support Endowment. Help us continue Chantal’s legacy and provide meaningful internship experiences to College of Education students.
