Kathy Sischo joined the College of Education Board in 2017. She holds a master’s degree in education with a concentration in classroom reading and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a minor in speech communication.
Kathy spent over 20 years teaching elementary education in the classroom. She also served for 20 years as an executive director for the Pampered Chef and has a range of volunteer experience, including serving on fundraising committees connected to establishing a new elementary school playground and a $1.5 million high school turf field complex.
She currently serves as neighborhood coordinator with the Produce Box, a local organization that delivers locally-grown fresh fruits and vegetables to consumers across the state.
Kathy is passionate about healthy cooking, exercise, and helping others. She has two grown children, and two golden retrievers, one of which is a Certified Therapy Dog with whom she visits schools, hospitals and nursing homes to bring pleasure and stress relief to students and patients.
