John Viehe joined the College of Education Board in 2017. John received both his doctorate and master’s in education from the NC State College of Education. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest University, a bachelor’s degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and a certificate in documentary studies (video) from Duke University.

He currently teaches psychology at Campbell University. Prior to that, he served as a psychology instructor at Wake Technical Community College and as a military intelligence officer.

In addition to serving on the College of Education Board, John’s philanthropic work includes the Chautauqua Institution and the “Veterans on the Camino,” which supports disabled veterans hiking the Camino de Santiago in northern Spain.

John travels annually to Europe for genealogical research.
