Mathematics Education–Middle School or Secondary

With six different options in undergraduate degrees, including dual majors, our Mathematics Education program prepares professionals for a variety of positions of instructional leadership in the field of mathematics education. We offer degrees for middle school (grades 6 – 9) and high school (grades 9 – 12) education.

Master’s Program

Mathematics Education

Our mission is to prepare master’s degree-seeking students for positions of instructional leadership in Mathematics Education as master teachers of mathematics in middle grades (6-9), high school (9-12) or post-secondary institutions such as community colleges. We offer both a Master of Education and a Master of Science in Mathematics Education. The Master of Science degree requires a thesis-culminating project, but other than that, they are the same.

Doctoral Program

Mathematics and Statistics Education

The Ph.D. in Learning and Teaching in STEM: Mathematics and Statistics Education concentration develops scholars who address issues related to the theory and practice of K-16 mathematics and/or statistics education. Students develop expertise in cutting-edge technology to bring about digital transformational approaches to learning, teaching, and assessment for a globally connected world.
