Technology, Engineering, and Design Education Programs Ranked #4 in the U.S. by University.com

The NC State College of Education’s programs in Technology, Engineering, and Design Education have been ranked #4 in the country in University.com’s 2025 Best Technology Teacher Education/Industrial Arts Teacher Education Colleges in the U.S. rankings

Programs are ranked based on a variety of factors, including admission rates, student retention and graduation, faculty and instructors, financial resources available to students, program focus and median earnings for graduates. 
“Being recognized by our peers affirms the meaningful work our faculty are doing in research, teaching and service,” said Professor of Technology, Engineering, and Design Education Aaron Clark. “It reflects the respect our students have for the contributions our program makes to the field of technology, engineering and design education. This recognition reinforces our reputation as a leader known for innovation and impact across the discipline.”

The College of Education offers a bachelor’s of science in Technology, Engineering, and Design Education, an Ed.D. in Technology Education and a Ph.D. in Learning and Teaching in STEM: Engineering and Technology Education concentration.
In 2023, the College of Education was recognized as a STEM School of Excellence by the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA) STEM Center for Teaching and Learning with the college’s technology, engineering, and design education programs playing a large part in the nomination process. Elements considered in that ranking included outreach faculty do with students through university partnerships as well as with student organizations like the Technology and Engineering Education Collegiate Association (TEECA) and Epsilon Pi Tau, the professional fraternity for the technology, engineering and design field.
