What are METRC’s hours?
Monday-Thursday: 8 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Please note: METRC is closed for university holidays and when classes are canceled.

Can I print in METRC?
Yes. We have access to a black and white, color, and poster printer. For more information, please visit our printing page.
Can I scan a book in METRC?
Yes. We have a self-service book scanner available for patron use.
What can I check out from METRC?
Anyone at NC State is free to check out our books. However, all of our equipment and Makerspace items are limited to the College of Education and Psychology. For a more comprehensive list of available items, please visit our Technology and Equipment page.
Do you have access to eBooks?
Yes. We are partnered with Overdrive, Mackinvia, and Tumblebooks. All of the access instructions are on our eBook page. Please note that all eBooks are limited to the College of Education only.
How do I reserve the conference room?
The conference room is run by the Dean’s Office, so we at METRC, unfortunately, can’t do the reservation. However, please visit our conference room reservation page to find out how to do so, and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Can I use your 3D printer? How much does it cost?
The 3D printer is only available for College of Education students to use, and only for classroom or otherwise school-related projects. Printing is free, but mandatory training is necessary to be able to use this service. Visit our Makerspace and 3D printing page for more information.
Can you help me fix something/help with technology?
We are happy to help troubleshoot any technology that you’ve checked out from METRC. No appointment is necessary but please come with enough time to properly evaluate the problem. Personal item help should be directed to EdIT.
I need help with teaching/can someone help me with my class?
Yes. Most basic information can be found on our Teaching Support pages; navigate to the appropriate page on the left. For more complex questions, or if you can’t find the information you’re looking for, feel free to contact us directly. Email is always preferred.
I need a test. How do I get access to it?
Make sure you know which test(s) you need, as the collection is not browsable, and come with a printed and filled-out permission form. If you do not have a form, or your form is incomplete, you will not be able to check out a test. For more information, visit the Tests & Measurements page.
