Google Assignments – Streamlined Grading & Submission (8/14 @ 10:00am)

Tired of getting Google Docs from students that you can’t open? Want a more efficient way to provide feedback to students on their Google Docs, Slides, or Sheets? The Google Assignments activity in Moodle manages sharing permissions and provides a streamlined feedback process with the option for an interactive rubric.

Moodle Design Tips & Tricks

For faculty and graduate students with Moodle experience, this session will focus on creating an effective site layout that leverages Moodle 4’s features. We will touch on best practices for course design and how to reduce scrolling. We will briefly review some of the most common activity types and compare their features.

Self-Paced Online Sessions

The following modules can be completed on your schedule and are comprised of videos, readings, quizzes, and other interactive features. These courses are designed by METRC or are third-party free courses that have been reviewed by METRC before being posted here. If you have questions while in a course/module, please contact METRC staff (cedmediacenter@ncsu.edu).

METRC Self-Paced PD

Google Classroom

This 45-90 minute module is run through Moodle and will walk participants through the basics of Google Classroom. You will enroll in Google Classroom as a student to experience different features and then complete interactive activities to try out different activities in Google Classroom. You will also see the “teacher-side” of Google Classroom and can print a completion certificate when you have finished the module.

Google Assignment

This 45-90 minute module is run through Moodle and will walk participants through the basics of Google Assignments. You will start by considering use cases for the Google Assignments Moodle activity. Next you will submit a document through Google Assignments to see the student experience. You will also practice adding a Google Assignment to one of your Moodle sites and can print a completion certificate when you have finished the course.

VENDOR Self-Paced Introduction

Flip (formerly Flipgrid) Workshops

This Flipgrid course from the Microsoft Educator Center will guide you through getting started in Flipgrid. You can sign in with your NC State Gmail/Unity account if you want to track your progress.
Flipgrid does not specifically integrate with Moodle but is easy to add using a share link from Flipgrid.

Delta’s Guide to PlayPosit

When you are ready to try PlayPosit, start by adding a PlayPosit activity into Moodle. After your NC State account is linked to PlayPosit through Moodle you can also access your bulbs from www.playposit.com. Our license only includes adding videos from YouTube, Vimeo or Panopto. So videos you create yourself will have to be uploaded to one of those platforms before you can add it to PlayPosit.
