The program is designed to increase diverse representation in executive and senior-level positions in higher education, and Madrid, who serves as the coordinator of campus community and culture at Meredith College, will be one of 45 fellows to make up its sixth cohort.

“This fellowship offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with leaders dedicated to promoting excellence in higher education,” Madrid said. “I am eager to apply the insights gained from this experience.”

As a fellow, Madrid will participate in a variety of professional development opportunities, including webinars and three seminars designed to prepare her for leadership roles in institutions of higher learning.

Madrid said the lessons she learned in the College of Education, specifically those related to the creation of learning environments, were instrumental in readying her for this fellowship.

“I am thankful for this opportunity and look forward to contributing to the advancement of excellence within our academic community,” Madrid said.
