Dean Paola Sztajn Completes Leadership for North Carolina Program

NC State College of Education Dean Paola Sztajn with the LNC Class 31.

NC State College of Education Dean Paola Sztajn was among 56 statewide civic and community leaders who completed the prestigious Leadership North Carolina (LNC) program on May 8, 2024, as part of the 2023-24 class.

Leadership North Carolina — the state’s premier leadership deployment program — each year uses a rigorous selection process to bring together a class of established and emerging leaders from across the state from sectors that include government, business, nonprofit and education.

“Being chosen to be part of this selective program gave me the opportunity to learn more about our state, connect with colleagues from different sectors and continue to educate our community about the work of Colleges of Education,” Sztajn said. “It was indeed an honor to be part of LNC Class 31, and I look forward to continuing to support, work with and grow this network of leaders from across North Carolina.”

Leadership North Carolina aims to inform, develop and engage leaders by broadening their understanding of and involvement in issues and opportunities facing the state.

As part of Leadership North Carolina Class 31, Sztajn and other participants attended seven two-and-a-half-day sessions where they learned about critical issues in the state through discussions with top officials and professionals, intentional dialogue and experiential learning activities.

The sessions, which were held in different locations throughout the state, focused on six key areas: government, education, health and human services, economic development, the environment and the economic diversity of North Carolina.
