NC State Education Welcomes Fulbright Awardee Stella Jackman-Ryan

The Fulbright Laspau Award recipient began her doctoral program in educational psychology this fall and will be working with Fulbright Scholar recipient and NC State Education Associate Professor Margareta Thomson on research involving academic motivation.

4 NC State Education Faculty Receive DELTA 2018-2019 Grants

DELTA awarded more than $240,000 in new and continuing DELTA Grants to 29 recipients across the NC State University, including four in the NC State College of Education: Michelle Bartlett, Jessica Hunt, Jamie Pearson and Meghan Manfra. They will collaborate with DELTA to create solutions to instructional challenges that promote the use of instructional technology and course design.

With 1K+ Donors, NC State College of Education Has Record Year of Giving in 2017-18

The NC State College of Education received gifts totaling $4,680,964 from 1,047 donors during fiscal year 2017-18. The number of donors is the highest total the college has had in a single year in its 90-year history, and the dollar amount in gifts is the most since at least 2003.

NC State Education Researchers Receive $1.5 Million NSF Grant to Implement Science Learning Environments

NC State Education Professor and Principal Investigator John Nietfeld will receive a $1.5 million National Science Foundation grant for a three-year project entitled A Learning Environment to Support Comprehension Monitoring with Informational Science Text. Education Associate Professor James Minogue serves as a Research Associate and Design Associate Professor Marc Russo serves as a co-PI on this project.

Jessica DeCuir-Gunby, a professor of educational psychology at the NC State College of Education, studies how racial identity impacts the educational experiences of African American students and the relationships between race and emotions within education.
