Associate Professor Jessica Hunt Receives National Outstanding Publication Award from NCTM

Jessica Hunt, associate professor of mathematics education and special education at the NC State College of Education, received the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Linking Research and Practice Outstanding Publication Award at the council’s annual conference held April 3-6, 2019.

New NSF-Funded Program to Prepare High School Math Teachers as Master Teachers in 6 High-Needs School Districts in NC

Twenty high school mathematics teachers in Cabarrus, Edgecombe, Mount Airy, Rockingham, Sampson and Wayne school districts will strengthen their leadership skills and instructional practice in high school mathematics through the five-year, NSF-funded North Carolina High School Mathematics Master Teacher Fellows Program.

Report: NC State Largest Producer of Mathematics Education Doctorates in N.C., 5th Largest in U.S.

The NC State College of Education is the largest producer of doctoral graduates in mathematics education in North Carolina and the fifth largest producer in the nation, according to a new independent report published in the Notices of the American Mathematical Society. The same report also found that the program No. 12 in the nation among peer recommendations.
