Cesar Delgado, Hollylynne Lee Recognized at University Teaching Awards Ceremony

NC State honored more than 30 faculty for their commitment to educational excellence at the 2018-19 University Teaching Awards Ceremony on April 11. NC State College of Education Associate Professor Cesar Delgado and Professor Hollylynne Lee were among the faculty recognized.

NC State Education Associate Professor Margareta Thomson Concludes Fulbright Year in Romania

During her Fulbright year in Romania, Associate Professor Margareta Thomson worked on her project “Fostering Academic Motivation and a STEM Growth Mindset in High-Poverty Schools through Authentic Research Experiences” and collaborated with area universities to plan and implement international conferences focused on topics like informal education, teacher education and science education.

Associate Professor Jessica Hunt Receives National Outstanding Publication Award from NCTM

Jessica Hunt, associate professor of mathematics education and special education at the NC State College of Education, received the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Linking Research and Practice Outstanding Publication Award at the council’s annual conference held April 3-6, 2019.

Associate Dean Lee V. Stiff ’78PHD Receives NCTM Lifetime Achievement Award

The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) awarded Lee V. Stiff ’78PHD with the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award last week at its annual conference. The award honors NCTM members who have exhibited a lifetime of achievement in mathematics education at the national level.

NC State Education Professor and Alumna Win AERA Award for The Postdoc Landscape: The Invisible Scholars

The American Educational Research Association presented NC State College of Education Professor Audrey Jaeger and Alessandra Dinin ’17PHD with the Outstanding Publication Award for their book The Postdoc Landscape: The Invisible Scholars, in which they offer examples, solutions and strategies for helping postdoctoral scholars succeed in the workplace.

Associate Professor Cesar Delgado Receives 2019 NC State Outstanding Teacher Award

Dr. Cesar Delgado, an associate professor of science education in the NC State College of Education, has been selected as a university-level recipient of NC State’s 2019 Outstanding Teacher Award for his “commitment to creative and innovative teaching and learning practices.” He will receive his award Thursday, April 11, at the university’s Teaching Awards Ceremony.

Audrey Jaeger Receives NC State’s 2019 Equity for Women Award

Dr. Audrey Jaeger, Alumni Distinguished Graduate Professor at the NC State College of Education, has been named a recipient of the 2019 Equity for Women Award. This award recognizes faculty, staff and students for outstanding leadership in establishing equity for women at NC State.

Assistant Professor Teya Rutherford Earns NSF CAREER Grant to Study Mathematics Motivation

Dr. Teya Rutherford, an assistant professor of educational psychology at the NC State College of Education, will use the five-year, $1 million grant to study how motivation functions to support student’s in-the-moment choices during learning. She is the first faculty member to receive an NSF Early Faculty CAREER grant while on the college's faculty.

Graduate Student Deidre Kelly Receives 2019 Warner Graduate Student Research Award

Deidre Kelly, a doctoral student in the NC State College of Education, has been selected to receive the 2019 Warner Graduate Student Research Award presented by international honor society Epsilon Pi Tau.
