Maja Stojanović Joining College of Education as Assistant Professor of Adult and Lifelong Education/Training and Development

Maja Stojanović will join NC State’s College of Education as an assistant professor of adult and lifelong education/training and development beginning Aug. 15, 2025. She currently serves as an assistant professor of adult learning and leadership at Kansas State University, where she has been a faculty member since 2022.

“I am excited about joining the community of globally-minded individuals at NC State and sharing my passion for adult learning, training and development with students in the Adult and Lifelong Education program,” Stojanović said. 

Stojanović earned her Ph.D. in leadership and human resource development from Louisiana State University, where her dissertation explored the intersection of multilingualism and career identity in U.S. academia. She also holds master’s degrees in applied research, measurement, and evaluation; leadership and human resource development; and English language, literature, and culture.

Originally from Serbia, Stojanović’s research focuses on adult and lifelong learning, multilingualism and internationalization, and career identity development. Her work has been published in journals including Career Development International, Adult Learning and the European Journal of Training and Development, and she co-edited the book Global Citizenship for Adult Education.

Stojanović has also served in leadership roles within the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education (AAACE), including the Commission for Professors of Adult Education. She regularly presents at national and international conferences and facilitates workshops on qualitative research, intercultural competence, training and development, and academic writing.
