#WhyIChoseEducation: Eileen Casler

As part of Celebrating 90 Years of NC State Education, we asked you to share your stories of why you chose education and why you love the NC State College of Education. Below is one of the many stories we received demonstrating how we’re leading the way in education in North Carolina and beyond.

Name: Eileen Casler
Graduation Year:  Current Student
Department/Program: Middle Grades Language Arts and Social Studies
Career Role & Responsibilities: I am currently a freshman in the Elementary Education program at NC State College of Education. I am the secretary for the Elementary Education Organization (ELMO) here, in which we come up with opportunities that can help ourselves and other future elementary school teachers be the best educators we can be!

Why did you enter the field of education?
I entered the field of education because I wanted to pass on my love of learning. Involved and passionate teachers are the key to a successful education for young students. I want to inspire my future students to chase their dreams no matter how out of reach they may seem, and to be the best people they can be!
