NC State Education Awarded $7.9M in Research Funding May-August 2019

Faculty and researchers at the NC State College of Education, including its Friday Institute for Educational Innovation, were awarded $7,864,749 to support seven research projects from May 15, 2019, to August 1, 2019.

Jonee Wilson, Temple Walkowiak to Measure High-Quality Instructional Practices to Support Marginalized Students in Rigorous Mathematics through NSF Grant

Assistant Professor Jonee Wilson and Associate Professor Temple Walkowiak are joining data from their previous research to develop rubrics that measure the extent to which teachers implement practices that support marginalized students as they participate in rigorous mathematics.

3 NC State Education Faculty Projects Receive STEM Education Initiative Funding

Three faculty members from the NC State College of Education -- K.C. Busch, Karen Hollebrands and Temple Walkowiak -- were recently awarded research grants from the STEM Education Initiative. The funding will support projects focused on learning STEM in informal contexts, enhancing online courses for mathematics teaching specialists, and preparing elementary teachers to become leaders in mathematics teaching and learning.

Two videos from the NC State College of Education are featured in the 2018 STEM for All Video Showcase, an event held May 14-21, 2018. During the week-long event, members of the public are invited to view the short videos, discuss them with the presenters online, and vote for ones most effective in conveying creative work.
