Scholarship Support Helped Sarah Brown ’21 Find Her Passion for Education, Helped Prepare Her High School Science Classroom for Future Students

In high school, Sarah Brown ’21 spent most of her time working as a camp counselor and discovered how much she loved teaching and working with kids, but it wasn’t until the end of her first year of college when she realized she could make a career out of teaching. Scholarship support helped Brown find her passion for education and has helped prepare her for a career as a high school science teacher.

My Student Experience: Wolfpack Robotics VEXU Club Places in Top 5 at 1st Intercollegiate Competition, Finishes 4th at VEXU World Championships

The Wolfpack Robotics VEXU Club competed in their first intercollegiate competition in March, finishing fifth out of 13 teams from the United States and Canada, which earned them an invitation to the VEXU World Championships, where they placed fourth in the world. NC State College of Education student Annie Li ’22 is one of the founding members of the club.

With an interest in mathematics education, he was encouraged to attend the NC State College of Education and work under the guidance of Lee V. Stiff, Ph.D. And for the past 11 years, he’s been a professor of math education.
