NC State STEM Early College High School Liaison Amber McGregor Moves Tutoring, Advising Online to Connect with Students

As the liaison between Wake STEM Early College High School and the NC State College of Education, Amber McGregor works to support students through counseling, academic advising, course instruction and course placement. When Wake Stem Early College High School moved online, she did, too, transitioning her tutoring and academic advising to a virtual format.

Mark Williams, director of information technology for the NC State College of Education, gives to the college because he saw the impact scholarships had on the educational success of his wife, who is also an educator. He wants to be able to help provide that same financial support to other educators and future teachers through a gift.

Melvin “Jai” Jackson Named Director for Graduate Student Recruitment, Mentoring, and Success

Melvin “Jai” Jackson, Ph.D., will begin as NC State College of Education’s director for graduate student recruitment, mentoring, and success Aug. 1. Jackson’s primary responsibility will be providing graduate student and program support to ensure graduate student success, recruiting prospective graduate students, and assessing graduate programs.
