John K. Lee Named Associate Dean for Faculty and Academic Affairs

John K. Lee, Ph.D., will be the NC State College of Education’s associate dean for faculty and academic affairs effective July 1. He succeeds Lee V. Stiff, Ph.D., who retired July 1 after a 44-year career in education.

Lee V. Stiff, Ph.D. -- a nationally-recognized thought-leader and scholar on equity and mathematics education -- will retire from NC State University’s College of Education on July 1, 2020, as associate dean for faculty and academic affairs and professor of mathematics education after a 44-year career in education.

Associate Dean Lee V. Stiff ’78PHD Receives NCTM Lifetime Achievement Award

The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) awarded Lee V. Stiff ’78PHD with the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award last week at its annual conference. The award honors NCTM members who have exhibited a lifetime of achievement in mathematics education at the national level.

Lee V. Stiff ’78 PHD Named Associate Dean for Faculty and Academic Affairs

As associate dean for faculty and academic affairs, effective May 4, 2018, Lee V. Stiff will oversee curriculum and academic programs, as well as faculty matters. “In addition to being a gifted researcher, communicator, and problem solver, Dr. Stiff has an institutional knowledge of NC State and the college matched by few," said Dean Mary Ann Danowitz.
