As parents and other caregivers work alongside teachers to help educate children at home during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, NC State College of Education faculty have created a videocast series called UnPACKing K-5 Math for Caregivers to help with mathematics instruction.

College of Education Graduate Student Kelly Womack Adams ’24 Awarded Prestigious NSF Graduate Research Fellowship

Kelly Womack Adams ‘24, a doctoral student in the College of Education, has been awarded a Graduate Research Fellowship from the National Science Foundation for her research proposal to study the way different dialects impact childrens’ understanding of mathematical concepts.

Rachel Giddings ‘19 always admired how passionate her mom, a pre-K special education teacher, was about her job, which inspired her to pursue a career in elementary education. She is now a first grade teacher at Forestville Road Elementary School. And one of the Wake County Public School System’s 2019-20 Diane Kent-Parker First-Year Teacher of the Year award winners.

U.S. News Ranks NC State College of Education #31 in Nation, 5 Programs in Specialty Categories

The NC State College of Education is tied at No. 31 in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2021 Best Graduate School Rankings among 393 graduate colleges of education in the nation. That is an improvement of 14 spots over last year. U.S. News also ranked programs within the college in five education specialty categories: Educational Administration and Supervision, Curriculum and Instruction, Elementary Teacher Education, Higher Education Administration and Secondary Teacher Education.
