Tailored Training

Lynley Wentzel, a doctoral student in the NC State College of Education's Adult and Community College program, is using her knowledge of education theory and human behavior to craft a training program for faculty and staff eager to learn NC State's new Research Enterprise Data system.

8 NC State Education Doctoral Students Named 2019 DREAM Fellows

Eight doctoral students from the NC State College of Education’s Adult and Community College program attended Achieving the Dream’s annual conference as DREAM Fellows Feb. 19-21, 2019. DREAM Fellows provide the organization with deeper feedback about the conference as well as detailed observations about emerging trends and issues that can enhance the organization’s work in student success.

Graduate Student Deidre Kelly Receives 2019 Warner Graduate Student Research Award

Deidre Kelly, a doctoral student in the NC State College of Education, has been selected to receive the 2019 Warner Graduate Student Research Award presented by international honor society Epsilon Pi Tau.

Deidre Kelly, a doctoral student in the NC State College of Education, has been selected for the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA) 21st Century Leadership Academy for 2019-2020.

Kevin Singer, a doctoral student in the NC State College of Education, has received the 2019 Spirituality and Religion in Higher Education Research Award from the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA).

The Graduate School’s Wolf of the Week: Sarah Hammond

The Graduate School recognized Sarah Hammond, a doctoral student in the Department of Educational Leadership, Policy, and Human Development, as its Wolf of the Week this week. Hammond's research focuses on equity issues in education, and she recently produced a documentary that explores the experiences of underrepresented students in veterinary medicine entitled “On the Margins of Veterinary Medicine."

NC State Education Graduate Student Earns Obenauf Award for Research

Kayla Norville ’14 MED, a doctoral student in the NC State College of Education’s learning and teaching STEM program, received the Dr. Patricia A. Obenauf Graduate Student Research Presentation Award for her work in studying the influence in-service teachers have on pre-service science teachers.

Education Matters host Keith Poston talks to Melody Chalmers, principal of E.E. Smith High School in Fayetteville, about addressing equity in public education and how she works with the Governor’s Commission on Access to Sound Basic Education to meet the needs of all students in the state. Chalmers is a student in the NC State College of Education's educational administration and supervision doctoral program.
