Belltower Will Be Lit Red for Student Ashley Lawson Sept. 28—A First for NC State College of Education

NC State will light the Belltower red on the night of Friday, Sept. 28, to recognize NC State College of Education senior Ashley Lawson being named the university’s 10th Truman Scholar. “To me, the lighting is more of a celebration of an incredible community that helped me achieve dreams I never knew I wanted,” Lawson said.

Peers across the nation elected Joy Gaston Gayles, a professor of higher education in the NC State College of Education, as an at-large member to the Board of Directors of the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE), an organization with over 2,100 members dedicated to higher education as a field of study.
