American College Counseling Association
ACCA strives to support and enhance the practice of college counseling, to promote ethical and responsible professional practice, to promote communication and exchange among college counselors across service areas and institutional settings, to encourage cooperation with other organizations related to higher education and college student development, and to provide leadership and advocacy for the professional of higher education. ACCA is a division of the American Counseling Association (ACA).
American School Counselor Association
The American School Counselor Association is the single national organization that represents the profession of school counseling. ASCA focuses on providing professional development, enhancing school counseling programs, and researching effective school counseling practices. Our mission is to promote excellence in professional school counseling and the development of all students.
Association for Counselor Education and Supervision
The Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES) emphasizes the need for quality education and supervision of counselors in all work settings. Through the accreditation process and professional development activities, ACES strives to continue to improve the education, credentialing and supervision of counselors.

Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs
CACREP has obtained recognition as a specialized accrediting body by the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation (COPA). This recognition provides a similar credential to the public that CACREP’s standards and procedures have undergone a similar assessment process by an outside body, which has recognized the commitment to educational quality. Although COPA no longer exists as an agency, the recognition function begun by COPA has been continued by its member accrediting organizations through new channels.
