Mark Williams, director of information technology for the NC State College of Education, gives to the college because he saw the impact scholarships had on the educational success of his wife, who is also an educator. He wants to be able to help provide that same financial support to other educators and future teachers through a gift.

Catherine “Cathy” Faircloth Hairr ’79 taught high school mathematics for 35 years in Raleigh. She credits her NC State education for preparing her for a life-long career in teaching. Because of her experiences in the College of Education, she has decided to give back through a gift in her estate to the college.

That led her to the NC State College of Education, where she earned two degrees with the help of financial support, which has also inspired her to give back to the college that has made her the elementary school teacher she is today.
