NC State: Home to Largest Teaching Fellows Cohort in N.C.

The NC State College of Education welcomed 54 new students to its North Carolina Teaching Fellows program this fall -- the largest entering cohort in the state. These new fellows join 20 other NC State students who composed the first cohort of Teaching Fellows at NC State since state legislators re-established the program in 2018. With 74 total Teaching Fellows, NC State is home to the largest group of Teaching Fellows in North Carolina, which is more than double the size of the next school.

NC State’s College of Education Receives $10.8M Grant from Belk Endowment to Enhance Its Support of Community Colleges

The largest grant ever made to the NC State College of Education since records have been kept will expand the college’s efforts to create a pipeline of highly-qualified community college leaders who improve post-secondary student outcomes. "This generous grant from the John M. Belk Endowment is a tremendous investment in NC State University, our state's community colleges, and the long-term economic vitality of North Carolina," said NC State Chancellor Randy Woodson.

College Magazine Ranks NC State No. 9 in Nation for Education Majors

College Magazine lists NC State University as one of the 10 best colleges for education majors in the U.S. in rankings the publication released Dec. 12. NC State is ranked No. 9 in the nation, and is the only school in North Carolina included on the list.

7 Superintendents of Rural School Districts in North Carolina Receive 2017 Friday Medal

Seven superintendents of rural school districts in North Carolina received the 2017 Friday Medals in recognition their strong, innovative leadership that includes documented results in improving students' learning and implementing digital-age approaches to teaching and learning. Among the recipients are two alumni and a teaching assistant professor at the NC State College of Education.
