Family Ties Inspire Nicholas Schwankl to Join Teaching Fellows at NC State

Following in his father’s footsteps, Nicholas Schwankl applied to the Teaching Fellows at NC State program when it returned to the NC State College of Education last fall. Now enrolled in the program, he looks forward to using the knowledge and skills he gains in technology, engineering & design education to make his future classroom an inviting and inspiring place for his students.

Crystal Espey Named Coordinator of Teaching Fellows at NC State Program

Crystal Espey ’11, ’18 MSA is the coordinator of the N.C. Teaching Fellows at NC State program, effective Aug. 13. She’s a former N.C. Teaching Fellow who previously taught high school math in Wake County for six years. She also earned a Master of School Administration from the NC State College of Education.

Dean Mary Ann Danowitz appeared recently on Education Matters to talk about the re-established N.C. Teaching Fellows Program, which will provide forgivable loans to students who teach science, technology, engineering, mathematics or special education in a North Carolina public school.
