“There became this kind of climate where folks really felt like teachers are being disrespected, schools are being disrespected,” Michael Maher, assistant dean for professional education, told Fox News about Wednesday's March For Students and Rally for Respect. “And that kind of came on the heels of the recession, and if you follow what happened in North Carolina, we were hit pretty hard by the recession.”
