Associate Professor Meghan Manfra, Doctoral Student Casey Holmes Win 2019 National Technology Leadership Initiative Fellowship Award

Professor Meghan Manfra, Ph.D., and doctoral student Casey Holmes were awarded the 2019 National Technology Leadership Initiative Fellowship Award at the College and University Faculty Assembly of the National Council for the Social Studies annual conference on Nov. 20.

In the white paper “Moving Our Field Forward: Practitioner Research in the Social Studies,” Associate Professor Meghan Manfra and colleagues offer an introductory guide to practitioner research for social studies educators. This free open resource for educators -- available to download now -- explains how practitioner research can improve social studies practice and shares representative examples from the field to encourage implementation.

DELTA awarded more than $240,000 in new and continuing DELTA Grants to 29 recipients across the NC State University, including four in the NC State College of Education: Michelle Bartlett, Jessica Hunt, Jamie Pearson and Meghan Manfra.
