Mini-Grants Allow College of Education Students to Ignite Innovation in the Classroom

Every spring, NC State College of Education students, typically seniors, enter public schools throughout the Triangle to complete a semester of student teaching. The college's student teacher mini-grant program allows them to apply for up to $200 to purchase materials and supplies to implement innovative learning opportunities in the classroom.

During NC State’s first crowdfunding campaign in October, close to 90 donors came together to support the NC State College of Education’s Student Teacher Mini-Grants campaign, raising funds for student teachers to equip their classrooms with supplies such as books, science equipment and other materials.

Endowed Scholarship Established to Honor Former Dean Mary Ann Danowitz

NC State’s College of Education has established the Mary Ann Danowitz Scholarship in honor of its former dean thanks to donations from two lead donors and other stakeholders throughout the College of Education community. When combined with matching funds from NC State’s Extraordinary Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (EOSI), this scholarship endowment has a projected value of over $200,000. It will provide need-based scholarships for undergraduate students in the college.
