Why Gifts Matter: Mini-Grants Help Make Ideas a Reality

Student teaching doesn’t come with a paycheck, so aspiring teachers have to cover classroom supply costs out of their own pockets. To help bridge that gap, the College of Education created a donor-funded mini-grant program that awards student teachers up to $200 for the supplies and materials they need.

Why Gifts Matter: Providing Extraordinary Opportunities for Future Teachers

Currently, there are five active endowed Extraordinary Opportunity Scholarship Initiative scholarships in the College of Education. In 2025–26, 13 undergraduates from across the college were awarded scholarships from those five active endowments. A sixth EOSI endowment in the College of Education will be awarded for the first time in 2026-2027.
