Associate Professor Erin Krupa Appointed Senior Faculty Fellow at Friday Institute

Associate Professor Erin Krupa has been appointed as a senior faculty fellow at the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation, beginning Oct. 11, 2023. Friday Institute senior faculty fellows are chosen by the Friday Institute executive director, serve a five-year term, provide leadership and direction for the Friday Institute by serving on the Friday Institute leadership team and contribute to the overall intellectual life of the Friday Institute.

Catalyst Grants Support Educators to Improve Instruction, Access and Advocacy

Since 2018, the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation and NC State’s College of Education have provided funding for more than 20 research projects through Catalyst Grants to support collaborative research projects between faculty and staff of the two groups and aid research that could lead to further inquiry and support.

Colleges of Education, Natural Resources Welcome William Hitt as Embedded Counselor

William Hitt will join NC State University as an embedded counselor to support the wellbeing and mental health needs of students in NC State’s College of Education and College of Natural Resources. Through the shared position, with support from the Provost’s Office, undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the College of Education and the College of Natural Resources will be able to receive free counseling services from Hitt on campus and virtually.

NC State College of Education Associate Professor Sue Barcinas has received the Imogene Oaks Award for Outstanding Research in Adult Education from the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education (AAACE) and has been elected chair of the Commission of Professors for Adult Education (CPAE) Executive Committee, the national academic adult education group within the organization.
