College of Education Sponsoring $100 Program Fee for Students Who Participate in Developing Cultural Competence (DCC) Program

Developing Cultural Competence (DCC) Program

The Developing Cultural Competence (DCC) Virtual Exchange and certificate program is hosted by the NC State Global Training Initiative.

The College of Education is sponsoring the $100 Program Fee for students who wish to participate.  As part of the sponsorship, students will be contacted by the College of Education Global Programs office to give us feedback regarding the DCC program.  If you have already participated, please share this opportunity with your peers.

Goals and benefits:

This co-curricular student certificate program aims to help participants identify their own cultural preferences and equip them with the tools to understand the preferences of others. Participating in this program will help participants increase their cultural awareness, and develop skills and strategies for working effectively across cultural differences. This program is also an opportunity to explore the world from home by connecting with people around the world.

Time requirement:

The average time requirement of the program is 12 hours in total over the 4 week period. This means you are expected to join four 90-minute live facilitated sessions via Zoom (6 hours) and complete weekly self-paced lessons and assignments (6+ hours).

How to apply?

In order to participate, students must register for the DCC program directly at https://gti.ncsu.edu/dcc/#dccregister Choose “Sponsor-Pay” for the payment type on the application form and add CED Global for your contact when registering.  Please send us an email that you have registered for the program and can commit to the time required to participate.  You can also receive PGU credit for your full participation in the DCC program.  Please email us at cedglobalprograms@ncsu.edu to learn how.
